  • 14 ounces (400 grams) crushed tomatoes

  • 1 cup ketchup

  • ¾ cup brown sugar

  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar

  • ½ cup molasses

  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika

  • 1 tablespoon salt

  • 2 teaspoons ground black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

  • ½ teaspoon ground mustard

  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Whisk to combine. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring regularly to avoid the sauce from splattering.

  2. Reduce the heat to low and continue simmering for 20 minutes.

  3. Remove the pan from the heat and allow to cool completely before transferring to an air tight container.

  4. This sauce can be used immediately, but letting it refrigerate overnight allows for the flavors more time to blend and develop.

  5. Enjoy!
