Charoset

  • 3 red apples, such as gala, quartered, deseeded, and cut into small chunks

  • ½ cup walnuts

  • ½ cups raisins

  • ½ cup red wine (I prefer dry wines)

  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • Matzah or crackers, for serving


  1. In a food processor, add the apples, walnuts, raisins, red wine, cinnamon, and salt. Pulse until the apples have been chopped up and you are left with a chunky mixture. It’s not supposed to be saucy or pureed.

  2. Serve with and on matzah or crackers.

  3. Enjoy!
